Scorpio, The Scorpion
Scorpio, The Scorpion, is the eighth sign of the zodiac, which runs from October 24th to November 22nd every year.
Western astrology is based on the Sign of the Zodiac which a person's date of birth falls under. The term "zodiac" is used by astronomers to mean the ring of constellations on the Sun's apparent path of the Sun across the sky during the year.
The Western astrological year is divided in to 12 roughly equal parts, and the names given to these 12 parts are the "Signs of the Zodiac". The animal or object shaped patterns of stars in the part of the zodiac that the sun passes through during that part of the year is used as the name for the sign of the zodiac.
Followers of Western astrology believe that a typical person born under each zodiac sign has a set of characteristics and character traits, both positive and negative. These characteristics and character traits may not fully apply to all people born under the sign.
