Western astrology associates people's characteristics with the sign of the zodiac they were born under. Learn about people born under Libra.

Libra, The Scales

Libra, The Scales, is the seventh sign of the zodiac, which runs from September 24th to October 23rd every year.

Western astrology is based on the Sign of the Zodiac of a person's date of birth. Astronomers used the term "zodiac" to mean the ring of constellations that lines the ecliptic, which is the Sun's apparent path across the sky during the year.

Western astrology divides the year in to 12 segments, and the names given to these 12 segments are called the "Signs of the Zodiac". Each one is named after the animal or object shaped patterns of stars in the part of the zodiac that the sun passes through during that segment of the year.

Western astrology holds that a typical person born under each sign of the zodiac has a set of positive and negative characteristics and character traits. These characteristics and character traits may not fully apply to every person born under that sign.
